Reverts

Those who embrace Islam and become Muslims are referred to
as Reverts, not Converts, because all people are born Muslim

According to Quran and Sunnah

The new Muslim or Muslimah revert retains the blessings for all good deeds performed before reversion to Al-Islam! Yet we are forgiven for our past sins upon embracing Islam! Masha'Allah!

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari (#70) and Muslim

Hakim ibn Hizam said to the Prophet , "You know that in the days before Islam I used to maintain family ties, free slaves, and give charity. Will I be rewarded for any of those deeds?" The Prophet replied, "You accepted Islam with all the good you did in the past."

The Noble Qur'an - Al-Anfal 8:38

Say to those who have disbelieved, if they cease (from disbelief) their past will be forgiven. But if they return (thereto), then the examples of those (punished) before them have already preceded (as a warning).

Reverts whose parents are not Muslim, are instructed to still maintain ties with their non-Muslim family. However, they should not look to the non-Muslim family members as Auliya (supporters, maintainers, friends). (Please read about Auliya by clicking here).

Reverts must not obey a parent or anyone who attempts to influence disobedience to Allah, subhana watala.
The Noble Qur'an - Luqmaan 31:14, 15

And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship, and his weaning is in two years give thanks to Me and to your parents, unto Me is the final destination.

But if they (both) strive with you to make you join in worship with Me others that of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not, but behave with them in the world kindly, and follow the path of him who turns to Me in repentance and in obedience. Then to Me will be your return, and I shall tell you what you used to do.

Hadith - Bukhari (#47), Muslim, Dawud, and Tirmidhi

Kulayb ibn Manfa'ah told us, "My grandfather asked the prophet of Allah with whom he should maintain good relations. (The Prophet replied,) 'Your mother and father, your sister and brother, and then your next of kin. (This is) an essential responsibility and a relationship that must be maintained.'"

Hadith - Bukhari (#24), Muslim, Dawud, and Ahmad

Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas said, "Four verses in the Qur'an were revealed concerning me. My mother had sworn an oath not to eat or drink until I had part company with Muhammad . So Allah [swt] revealed: "But if they (both) strive with you to make you join in worship with Me others that of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not, but behave with them in the world kindly, and follow the path of him who turns to Me in repentance and in obedience. Then to Me will be your return, and I shall tell you what you used to do." [The Noble Qur'an - Luqman 31:15]

Hadith - Bukhari (#25), Muslim, and Dawud

Asma' bint Abi Bakr, said, "My mother (who has not yet embraced Islam) visited me in order to restore good relations after the Prophet's treaty (of Hudaybiyah). I asked the Prophet if I should have anything to do with her, and he replied, 'Yes.' Ibn 'Uyayhan (one of the narrators in the chain) said, "Allah revealed the following concerning her: "Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allah loves those who deal with equity." [The Noble Qur'an 60:8]

Reverts should invite their family members to Islam

Hadith - Bukhari (#34), Muslim and Ahmad

Abu Kathir said, "I heard Abu Hurayrah say, 'Everyone who has heard of me, even Jews and Christians, has loved me. You see, I wanted my mother to accept Islam, but she kept on refusing. I would tell her that she should, but she would refuse. So I went to the Prophet and asked him to pray to Allah for her, which he did. When I went home to her that day, (I found that) she had closed the door. (Once I went inside,) She said to me, 'O Abu Hurayrah! I have embraced Islam.' When I gave the news to the Prophet , I asked him to pray for me and my mother. So he said, 'O Allah, Your servants, Abu Hurayrah and his mother, make them beloved to all people!'"

If one makes a halal (Islamically permissable) oath before becoming Muslim, s/he should still try to fulfill that oath after becoming Muslim.

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari 8.688, Narrated Ibn Umar, r.a.

'Umar said "O Allah's Apostle! I vowed to perform I'tikaf for one night in Al-Masjid-al-Haram, during the Pre-Islamic Period of ignorance (before embracing Islam)." The Prophet said, "Fulfill your vow."

Do not pray for forgiveness of non-Muslims, even if s/he is a family member.

The Noble Qur'an - At-Taubah 9:113-114

It is not (proper) for the Prophet and those who believe to ask Allah's Forgiveness for the Mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah), even though they be of kin, after it has become clear to them that they are the dwellers of the Fire (because they died in a state of disbelief).

And Ibrahim's (Abraham) invoking (of Allah) for his father's forgiveness was only because of a promise he [Ibrahim (Abraham)] that he (his father) is an enemy of Allah, he disassociated himself from him. Verily Ibrahim (Abraham) was Awwah (one who invokes Allah with humility, glorifies Him and remembers Him much) and was forbearing. (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi).

The Holy Kaaba Architecture and Organization (Kabah)

The Holy Kaaba

The Quran-a-Majeed refers to Makkah al-Mukarramah, and the Holy Mosque (Masjid al-Haram) Accordingly, Hazrat Ibrahim A.S and his son Hazrat Ismail A.S built the Holy Kaaba. Later through the decades the Holy Kaaba was rebuilt various times through history but always by maintaining the original stonework and dimensions.

Tawaf-a-Kaaba (Kabah)

The Holy Kaaba has a great role in Islam, being the vocal point of all prayers (Namaz, Salat) as well as a destination for worship and devotion.

The Size of the Holy Kaaba:

The current height of the Holy Kaaba is 39 feet, 6 inches and total size comes to 627 square feet.

The inside room of the Holy Kaaba is 13x9 meters. The Holy Kaaba's walls are one meter wide. The floor inside is 2.2 meters higher than the place where people perform Tawaaf.

The ceiling and roof are two levels made out of wood. They were reconstructed with teak which is capped with stainless steel.

The walls are all made of stone. The stones inside are unpolished, while the ones outside are polished.

This small building has been constructed and reconstructed by Prophets Adam, Ibrahim, Ismail and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon them all). No other building has had this honor.

Kaaba Floor Plan (Kabah)

What is inside the Holy Kaaba?

There are two pillars inside (others report 3 pillars)

There is a table on the side to put items like perfume

There are two lantern-type lamps hanging from the ceiling

The space can accommodate about 50 people

There are no electric lights inside

The walls and floors are of marble

There are no windows inside

There is only one door

The upper inside walls of the Holy Kaaba were covered with some kind of curtain with the Kalima written on it.

Inside Holy Kaaba (Kabah / Kabbah)

The Architecture of Holy Kaabah (Kabbah / Kaba / Kaba)

There are four corners of Holy Kaaba and those are:

The Black Stone Corner (Rukan-a-Hijjar-a-Aswad)

The Shami Corner (Rukan-a-Shami)

The Yamani Corner (Rukan-a-Yamani)

The Iraqi Corner (Rukan-a-Iraqi)

Organization of Holy Kaaba (Kabah)

At the top of the northern wall, there is the Mizrab-a-Rehmat, A water drain element which is made of pure gold, dominating the stone of Hazrat Ismail A.S.

Hijar-a-Aswad (The Black Holy Stone):

Located at the southeastern part of Holy Kaaba, a sign of divine grace, it is a heavy oval stone, of black reddish color. Its diameter is 30 cm, surrounded with a silver frame. The circler is required to kiss the black stone if possible. It is told that Messenger (peace of Allah be upon him) said, "the stone and the station of Ibrahim are two bequeathed from paradise, but Allah obliterated their light, otherwise they would have lit between east and west". He also said, "when the black stone was lowered from paradise, it was whiter than milk, but the sins of humans made it black.

Hajj Memories

The Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) delivered a Khutbah

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) delivered a Khutbah and said, "O people! Hajj (pilgrimage to the House of Allah) has been made incumbent upon you, so perform Hajj.'' A man inquired: "O Messenger of Allah, is it prescribed every year?'' He (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) remained silent till the man repeated it thrice. Then he (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "Had I replied in the affirmative, it would have surely become obligatory, and you would not have been able to fulfill it.'' Afterwards he said, "Do not ask me so long as I do not impose anything upon you, because those who were before you were destroyed on account of their frequent questioning and their disagreement with their Prophets. So when I order you to do something, do it as far as you can; and when I forbid you from doing anything, eschew it.'' [Muslim Book 007, Chapter 71, Hadith # 3095].

Commentary: This Hadith brings out the following points:
1. Hajj is compulsory once in a lifetime for those who have the means for it.
2. Unnecessary questioning is disliked.
3. Those who believe in Allah and His Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) are required to do what they are ordained and abstain from what they are forbidden.

Please remember the entire ummah in your duas.

Haddith of The Day

Narrated by 'Adi bin Hatim (Radi-Allahu 'anhu): The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) mentioned the (Hell) Fire and sought refuge (with Allah) from it, and turned his face to the other side.

He mentioned the (Hell) Fire again and took refuge (with Allah) from it and turned his face to the other side. (Shu'ba, the sub-narrator, said, "I have no doubt that the Prophet repeated it twice.") The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) then said, "(O people!) Save yourselves from the (Hell) Fire even if with one half of a date fruit (given in charity), and if this is not available, then (save yourselves) by saying a good pleasant friendly word." Shaytan Loves Innovations More Than Sins

Shaytan Loves Innovations More Than Sins!

An innovation is more beloved to iblees (the devil) than a sin because repentance is made for a sin, but is not made for an innovation.

Quote of The Day

‎"O feet of patience, keep going, for what remains is only a little. Remember the sweetness of worship, then the bitterness of striving will become easier for you" -Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim Al Jawziyah, Rahimullah

Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Qur'an like we treat our cellphone?

Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Qur'an like we treat our cellphone?

What if we carried it around where ever we go?
what if we flipped through it several times a day?
what if we turned back to go get it if we forget it?
what if we used it to benefit receiving messages from the text?
what if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
what if we gave it to kids as gifts?
what if we used it when we travel?
what if we used it in case of emergency?
This is to make u go......hmmm....where is my Quran?

Oh and one more thing, unlike our cellphone , we don't have to worry about our QURAN being disconnected Because this service is free.....makes u stop and think; 'where r my priorities?' .......and NO DROPPED CALLS!!! .

"Say: "In the Bounty of Allah, and in His Mercy (i.e. Islam and the Quran); -therein let them rejoice." That is better than what (the wealth) they amass."
